这句话怎么译？

前些天在北广参加一个Seminar，当时首席的老外致词，其中有一句：Put the bananas where the mouth is，当时的女翻译直接照字面意思翻译了，但这句话应该是俗语，对应到中文也应该用俗语，因而，是不是应该翻译为：好钢用在刀刃上？
请高手指点。

这里的“bananas”不一定是“好钢”。故译为“物以致用”更贴切。

应该是
“Put the money where the mouth is ”

意思是去做你所说的，不要只是嘴巴说而已。

这个习惯用语有两个意思：
1. to support something that you believe in, especially by giving money.
If people are really interested in helping the homeless they should put their money where their mouth is

2. to do something rather than to just talk about it.
I finally realized that I should stop complaining about the people who run our town, put my money where my mouth is, and run for office.

bananas估计是mana的误听，mana就是money，说话的老外蛮有水平。合适的中文翻译建议是“不要口惠而实不至！”

更俚语化的翻译可否译为“不要光耍嘴皮子”或者是“不要光说不练”。

考虑到说话人使用了mana这个词，建议还是翻译得书面一点。mana的出处记得不清楚，大约是古希伯莱语（编辑一下：刚刚查证：bananas应该是Mammon的误听。Mammon古迦勒底语，意思是财富。在新约圣经中使用，是钱的化身）。如果中国人发言说了之乎者也，我们大概不能翻译得太口语化吧？
一点浅见而已。
ps：“不要光说不练”，很传神啊！！
再ps：如果原文真的没有听错是Put the bananas where the mouth is，那么我们真的很容易想偏啊——要把香蕉放到嘴里（不要把[b]香蕉[/b]放到不是嘴的地方）——嗯，想起很多的小视频～～～～～～～
