几十年来,这本书是标准的研究生教材。这本书不适合初学者。看这本书要有很好的数学基础。
这本书的内容很广泛,是百科全书式的教材,推导不详细,中间过程略而不讲,但其中的数学工具以及公式可作为工作学习时的参考。要比较扎实地掌握电磁学的话,这本书是比较好的选择。
这本书的另一个有名的地方,就是习题很难。
